Opportunities are everywhere to pray for the people you meet

The students of Rock Solid High School had the wonderful opportunity to visit the city of Ponce this week.

While in Ponce, the students also were able to meet the local residents in the main town square well as perform their skit (With Subtitles in Spanish) on how the love of Christ can overcome any problem.  We had 20 people who watched it and we were given a nice round of applause at the end.

It was a great opportunity to share the infinite love of Christ with Ponce. On the way to the shops I was stopped by a contrite man who thanked us and shared his life story. His name was Michael and had gotten out of prison that day after 9 years.  He was traveling to Boston to reunite with his daughter he had not seen in 5 years.  He told me that he was caught in Boston on a warrant from Puerto Rico.

He spent 4 years in prison in Boston awaiting extradition. He spent the last 5 years in prison in Ponce. When I asked if he had a Bible and he showed me his well-read copy of the word in Spanish. I asked him if I could pray for him and he said please. I was wonderful to pray for him and I knew that one of the reasons that God may have brought us there for that very purpose.  It was a sad to hear his story but exciting to pray that God would use him in a mighty way.
