Final Day in Puerto Rico

Thursday was our final day in Puerto Rico and it was technically our day off; no work, just play.  The day started off with an early breakfast at 6:45 and then a trip to the beach for snorkeling.  The water was crystal clear and filled with seaweed and coral.  Swimming along the top we saw so many fish, brain coral was everywhere, the water was warm.  It was a beautiful morning.    Then after a quick lunch we headed up the mountains for cliff diving, probably the scariest part of the entire trip.  There was a 20 foot drop and a 30 foot drop and from what I’ve been told, jumping off was the hardest part.  One of the natives went even higher and jumped off of a tree limb.  The water there was cold and refreshing and the sun beat down hot but it was a beautiful view among the trees and rock.  The experience was well worth the climb.  After, we got dinner at a restaurant called Starlight.  The food was fantastic and served in mass proportions.  Some of us even tried octopus which wasn’t all that bad once you got past the fact that you were eating octopus tentacles.  The day was busy.  Getting back to the camp everyone was tired out, ready for sleep.  For our final debrief with AIM we all sat in a circle and all said one adjective to describe everyone in the circle.  It was amazing to hear what everyone came up with; it was evident that the Lord had brought us all closer over the week.  We have all learned so much together, even about each other, and this exercise was the perfect way to end our spiritually calling and uplifting week.  We thank everyone for the prayers that we received and for all of the support.  And most of all we praise God for showing us what it is to truly be called into the field.  It was a day of fun but there is no denying that the Lord still had his hand on us, just as he always does.  One adjective I would use to describe the week: inspiring.
