Seeing God Move in Puerto Rico (Part 2)

Here are some stories from Bryan and Kevin’s group, who served in Loiza this week:

Kendra – This afternoon we did a prayer walk. God hit me like a ton of bricks as we prayed for an elderly woman. We prayed for her family, the community, and especially for her peace and health. She had a stroke several years back that left her deaf and unable to use her right side. As we prayed, so did she, with incredible passion, pain, and power. Our English mixed with her Spanish cries as the wind bellowed through her small house. That is when I felt it. Like nothing else… God was there, listening with intent. I got goosebumps as my eyes welled with tears. It was one of the most God-filled moments of my life.

Aly – This was one of the best weeks of my life. I really opened up to God and found out who I am. I loved it and I hope I can do it again sometime. I loved the VBS and the kids looked so happy. It was great.

Emily – This trip was amazing. Through the vbs and various jobs we did God was seen through our team and the people we worked with. I personally saw God on a new level and drew closer to him.

Caleb – During my time here I personally have never felt closer to God. Doing VBS with all the kids and getting to tell them about God has really shown me what the Lord can do through a group of people in 4 days to change lives.

Emma – Here on this trip I have seen and experienced so much love, peace, and passion in the children, leaders, contacts, and other group participants including myself. I have felt more passion and love “installed” in me! The joy here is so large and abundant it makes me stand in awe. So much beauty in the people, childre, participants, and overall location – especially in people’s hearts. I feel we have changed at least one life here. It was utterly amazing. I cannot wait for my next one!

Kathryn – This trip was so amazing for me personally. I experienced a lot of things spiritually that I have not experienced yet! We came to love and serve the people of PR, but I feel that we received more love from the Puerto Rican people. They served us so selflessly and so wholeheartedly that I was so touched by them. Even though there was a language barrier, loving on the kids and playing games with them showed Christ’s love no matter what language we spoke!
