Day one to this trip is one nobody will ever forget, walking down the streets of Puerto Rico and observing the atmosphere around us. Our group separated into two separate groups, one heading down to the homeless shelter and the other working on construction projects. Right afterwards, everyone came together and went to a daycare, having so much fun with the kids. Quite honestly watching them laugh made me smile, a warm feeling invading my heart. When Group A walked into the homeless shelter, we were welcomed by a great guy named Paco, getting a tour and standing by our sides every step of the way, helping us with our project. Group B on the other hand, worked hard by power washing the roof and drilling wood in to make window seals. Its taking a lot of hard work and dedication but at the very end of all of this, we will be able to sit back and smile, looking upon the work we have done, knowing that we are being the hands and feet of Jesus.
