Today the team that travels to the park arrived in time to get in a quick game of ball tag before it started to rain again.  Before getting out of the van though, Jordan expressed to the team how proud he was of them and that he believed they could do anything as long as they trusted in God. The overall spirit of the team was high as the number of participants for the VBS today was higher than yesterday and the clouds were protecting us from the sun a little.  As the game progressed more and more participants began to arrive even with the weather deteriorating.  Once there were a significant number of participants at the location the team moved the events to the beach front which is were the magic began and God showed us something amazing.  As we made our way onto the beach, the entire group was excited to at least be near the water.  Out of a bush come eight little puppies that appear to have been abandoned by their mother on the beach.  The group huddled around the puppies for a little while and the puppies soaked up the love that they were receiving.  After about ten minutes with the puppies a storm starts to roll in and the team and the group are faced with leaving the puppies to the weather and other threats or find them shelter.  One of the participants comes up with the idea to shelter them near his house in an abandoned house that has been battered by storms and is generally in disrepair.  It would serve as the perfect place for them as they could come and go as they pleased and yet would be protected from the elements.  The group gathered the puppies and like God does with each of us especially during the rough times in our lives, bundled up with the pups and headed to the shelter.  Again like God does with all of us, the group was able to find water and food to provide for the pups.  After leaving the puppies, one of the leaders shared with the group how God works just like that, rescuing all of us, even when we don't ask or deserve it.  As a result of the move of the Holy Spirit several of the participants received Christ in their lives that day, and we all have a memory that will last a lifetime, but they now have eternal life which is better than any memory.
